I hope the opinion polls show there will be a landslide victory for Donald Trump.

There are too many people in America right now who believe Trump will not get enough votes to be President. If the people who don’t want him to win think Hillary can stop him, they won’t vote and that could be all he needs for victory on November 8th.

We saw it in Britain with the Brexit referendum. Britain leaving the E.U. is bad for Britain. Our currency is touching record lows and we haven’t even started the process of leaving yet.

Trump’s campaign is built on lies and false promises, exactly the same as the Brexit campaign. Brexiteers told the public that immigrants were stealing jobs, but when the figures came out they showed that at a time of record immigration, Britain had the lowest unemployment figures for eleven years. Then there was the slogan in 2ft-high letters on the side of a massive bus that read, “We send the EU £350million a week – let’s fund our NHS instead”. The day after the referendum, Ukip leader, Nigel Farage said he could not guarantee the NHS would get the extra funds. Asked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, he told Susanna Reid: “No, I can’t and I would never have made that claim – it was one of the mistakes that the Leave campaign made.”

Britain, this dinky little island, will soon have to go it alone in the global economy, instead of co-operating with our economic neighbors. We haven’t got a chance. Hate and fear won the day.

The future should be so much brighter, Britain’s young people understand the world we live in and our place in it, because they’ve never known it any other way. Older voters have a view of the world and Britain that is out of date. When they went to school, Britain still had an empire and their parents fought a war with Germany. A larger percentage of older people are racist, so more of them voted for Brexit.

On top of that, more older people voted. Younger, enlightened people, knowing that Brexit was bad for the country, didn’t think it could possibly happen and the opinion polls confirmed this just days before the referendum, so too many young people stayed at home on referendum day. About 64% of registered voters aged 18-24 went to polls but, according to evidence compiled by the London School of Economics, 90% of over-65s voted.

Let’s hope the opinion polls in the USA predict a big win for Trump, so that plenty of people get out and vote for Hillary.

Brexit will be very bad for Britain but there’s nothing we can do about it now. If you are a registered voter in the USA, you still have time to save America from Trump!
