Radio Ga Ga

16Aug16

Why don’t you hear as many phone calls on the radio these days?

Hearing humans on the phone has been replaced with the sound of radio presenters reading out texts.

Why do radio stations even allow you to text? Has radio forgotten it’s an AUDIO medium? The stations work hard to get you to listen and want you to interact with them but while you’re holding the very device that you can talk to them on, they ask you to write to them!

Could the reason be that most radio presenters have nothing to say and are scared of having an opinion, so they just want something to read out that they can attribute to someone else?

It would explain why they’re so obsessed with the morning papers and distance themselves from stuff they say by starting sentences with the word “apparently”.

Craic on!
