Thanksgiving Turkey

Are the American public being manipulated?

The U.S. has issued a worldwide travel alert for it’s citizens in response to what they’re calling an “increased terror threat”. They’re advising Americans to avoid crowded places.

They haven’t closed any airports, cancelled any flights or told people not to travel. It’s a vague warning that doesn’t offer any practical advice. The travel alert says, “US citizens should exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation”. The travel alert has been issued just before Thanksgiving.

If I was a cynic, I would suspect that the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Barack Obama, wants to send troops into Syria. He knows that after wars in Afghanistan and Iraq where almost 7000 Americans died, sending ground troops in would make him unpopular at home.

The people who’ve been asked to “exercise vigilance” are not security experts, they’re just passengers and they’re scared. That means they’re more likely to report ordinary behavior as “suspicious”.  That could cause airports to be closed and flights cancelled at the busiest time of the year.

Then the American public would demand Obama does more in Syria!

Craic on!
