Syria Season.

Isis claimed responsibility for blowing up that Russian airliner over Egypt. In all likelihood it was in retaliation for Moscow’s airstrikes against Isis in Syria.

A few weeks ago, David Cameron was pressing for British military action against Islamic State in Syria. Michael Fallon, the Defence Secretary said that bombing I.S. targets there would keep Britain’s streets safe.

As far as Islamic State goes, Britain’s streets are safe. The number of ISIS attacks on British soil stands at zero.

Could that narrative from the Defence Secretary be the complete opposite of the truth? If the motivation for killing innocent holidaymakers was Russia’s involvement in Syria then British air strikes would surely increase, not reduce the chances of an attack on innocent Britons.

If that’s true, let’s hope Britain doesn’t use the bombing of the Russian plane as justification for British military action in Syria now.
