Chemical Boros

Going to a football match is a completely different experience to watching it on television. The main difference is when you’re at the match, the commentary is better.

Seeing Liverpool play Middlesbrough on the telly this week reminded me of the last time I watched a Liverpool v Middlesbrough game at Anfield.

We were on the Kop and over-heard two fans behind us talking about the visiting Middlesbrough supporters. They noticed that two Boro fans at the Anfield Road end were dressed in hazmat suits complete with respirators. We heard one Kopite say to the other, “What’s going on there?” His mate said, “It’s because they’ve got ICI and all those other chemical factories up there”.

Then the first bloke said, “They must have come straight from work!”

Craic on!
