How an air-conditioning mechanic in Sydney Australia became an award winning broadcaster in Britain Part 69.

In 1996, the ratings were very kind to me and everyone else that worked at 2GO on the New South Wales Central Coast.

It wasn’t such good news for Coast Rock, their numbers went down. Both stations had been bought by RG Capital and were now in the same building and being run by the same General Manager.

Days after the numbers came out, a couple of Coast Rock’s presenters were sacked. They also sacked the Program Director. All of them were out of the building within minutes of being dismissed.

It was nothing personal which was proven by the fact that on the day he was let go, the now “former” Coast Rock Program Director was given a lift home by the General Manager in what had minutes earlier been the Program Director’s company car.

Craic on!
