How an air-conditioning mechanic in Sydney Australia became an award winning broadcaster in Britain Part 37.

11Feb14

We were surprised when the removal bloke turned up on his own. It was the night before we moved 1038 kilometres from Parkes in New South Wales to Mount Gambier. He told us he was going to sleep in his truck but first he was going to the pub over the road to “hire” someone to give him a hand with our furniture in the morning.

I’d been presenting the afternoon Drive shift on 2PK in Parkes for the last twelve months and had been offered a job doing the same shift on 5SE in Mount Gambier in South Australia. I had a feeling that this removal bloke was going to provide me with plenty of things to talk about on my new show, I was right. Everything we owned was loaded into that truck the next morning, a week later we got a phone call telling us that the lock-up where it was stored had been broken into. More on that in another Craic.

Craic on!
